First Communion & First Reconciliation

Preparing to Receive Christ's Mercy & Love

Preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is an important step in a child's journey of faith.

At St. Genevieve Catholic Church, second-grade children who have been baptized in the Catholic faith prepare to receive these Sacraments through the Parish School of Religion (PSR).

Preparation includes scheduled in-person retreats and other information provided through the parish's annual PSR program.

First Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation offers second-grade children the opportunity to encounter God's forgiveness and mercy through the Sacrament of Penance.

As part of their preparation, children participate in a scheduled retreat to help them understand the importance of repentance, forgiveness, and receiving God's grace.
